Edinboro Elementary School teacher Rachel Pituch received the Golden Apple Award yesterday.

Pituch has worked as a Special Education teacher at Edinboro Elementary School for 8 years. Fourth grader Wesson Trypus and his mom Abby nominated Pituch for the honor.

The GOLDEN APPLE AWARD program is a tradition at JET-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. JET-TV, in partnership with Edinboro University, honors local educators who have made a positive impact upon the youth of our community. Students submit written nominations explaining why they are nominating a teacher. Each week during the school year, JET-TV visits an area school to announce the winner.

Pituch’s honor will air Wednesday, November 23 on Action News24 at 6:00 p.m., and the story airs again on Thursday morning, November 24, on Action News 24 between 5:30 and 7:00 a.m.

Congratulations to Mrs. Pituch!
