What does a conductor do? What families of instruments are in a symphony orchestra?  What are some of the hand movements conductors are doing when they wave their hands around?  And, what is that stick called?

Those are questions Maestro Daniel Meyer of the Erie Philharmonic answered today during his presentation to Edinboro Elementary second graders. The entire second grade also joined together to sing and sign a song for him.

This Saturday night, world-renowned pianist Emanuel Ax makes his Erie Philharmonic debut in a very special evening of two composer-titans, Beethoven and Mahler. In April, violinist Jenny Oaks Baker returns to the Erie Philharmonic for their 16-17 Pops season finale to perform original arrangements from classic Disney films.
