General McLane gives back through Food Drive

All four General McLane schools and the Service Center contributed to the Erie News Now and Second Harvest Holiday Food Drive, which ended on November 18.

Nick’s Place coordinated the collection, and all donations went to the Edinboro Food Bank.

Last year, our community donated $6,457.55 and 8,018 pounds of food that stayed at the Edinboro Food Pantry.

This year, our community donated 10,431 pounds, $11,350.79, 76 turkeys and six hams.

Edinboro Elementary donated 1893 items. Ms. Lobdell’s came in first place with 236 items.

McKean Elementary donated 2436 items. Mrs. Troyer’s class came in first place with 664 items.

James W. Parker Middle School donated items 330 items.

General McLane High School donated 1,148 items. Mr. Korb’s class came in first place with 417 items.

The Service Center donated five boxes of food, one turkey and $216.

The winning classes will receive a pizza & putt putt party in the spring at Sunview Golf.
