Posted on April 30, 2016, in Events

General McLane School District recently won the highest award from the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association’s (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” contest.

General McLane received the highest honor, the Award of Excellence, for its website. This is the first time its website has received this honor since it relaunched it during the 2011-2012 school year. In 2013, General McLane won an Award of Honor for its website.

All public and private schools and education organizations, as well private businesses serving as business partners throughout the country, are eligible to enter the contest. Entries in the “Internet/Intranet Website” category are judged on content, clarity, appropriateness and freshness, graphic design, usability, functionality and overall depth of information.

General McLane also received an Award of Honor for its Social Media and its Alumni Newsletter.

The purpose of this competition is to recognize outstanding communications efforts by school and educational entities and to encourage school officials to find different methods to communicate more effectively with their various stakeholders.

PenSPRA is an organization of school public relations professionals whose goal is to improve educational communication and support student achievement through systematic, proactive and responsible public relations programs.
