General McLane High School seniors Amanda Laughlin and Libby Myers will be headed to Orlando this April for the annual United States All Star Federation (USASF) Dance Worlds™ competition.

Laughlin and Myers will be competing as part of the Dance Vibe Senior Hip-Hop Team. Their team received their bid and will now compete against hundreds of USASF member event producers across the U.S. and in over 40 countries around the world.  Myers and Laughlin are members of an 11-member team.

“One of my favorite things about this event is meeting all of the people from different countries,” said Myers, who has been with Dance Vibe for six years. “It’s fun to have those opportunities to interact with the participants and see their routines.”

The theme for this year’s routine is “Jokers” and incorporates different tricks and moves to music from Suicide Squad.

“I like the acting part of it,” said Laughlin, who has been dancing since the age of two and competitive dancing since she was nine.  “In addition to the hip-hop dancing, we are portraying a character so it makes it more fun and exciting to go out there.”

This international event brings together more than 9000 cheer and 3500 dance athletes to vie for world champion titles in senior and international club divisions and categories.

The event takes place April 28 through May 1 and will be aired on ESPN2.

Congratulations to both Myers and Laughlin!
