GM sophomore wins Bayhawks competition

The Erie BayHawks will be wearing a uniform at their March 25 game designed by a GMHS student!

General McLane students competed in their contest, which was co-sponsored by the Erie Arts & Culture. Two students and General McLane High School art teacher Mrs. Hodas won the contest.

Sophomore Kaley Berger took first place in the Bayhawks’ Uniform Design Contest. She will have her design featured on the BayHawks Uniforms on March 25, as well as featured on a poster produced by the Erie Times-News and distributed to fans the night of the game. She will also assist the BayHawks in selecting from a list of community projects that will receive proceeds from the BayHawks Uniform Auction . Berger will will receive a personalized replica jersey and shorts, two courtside seats to the BayHawks game, a Green Energy Prize Pack and a $250 cash prize.

Freshman Ellen Eisert placed 2nd. She will receive a $50 Cash Prize and recognition during BayHawks game on March 25th. She will also be featured on and Erie BayHawks social channels and receive two courtside seats and a Green Energy Prize Pack.

Mrs. Hodas placed third and will receive recognition during BayHawks Game on March 25 and be featured on and Erie BayHawks Social Channels. She will also receive four premium tickets to a BayHawks and a Green Energy Prize Pack.

All students in Mrs. Hodas’ Graphic Design class submitted a design. The BayHawks Uniform Design contest called all artists, designers and photographers in Erie County, of all ages, to submit a design that celebrates a ‘Greener Erie’. The design needed to incorporate recognizable elements of Erie, along with a depiction of what energy conservation and environmental sustainability mean in today’s age.
