General McLane High School was selected to host a special Positive Youth Development of Erie County Summit for PYD Student Leadership Councils.

The Youth Summit was a student leadership conference for designated schools only that PYD has worked with for positive change in the school environment. The objective of the summit was to share priority problem areas (Pennsylvania Youth Survey) and proposed action plans created by students from the various school leadership councils. This was also a great networking event for all the students to come together and talk about issues and ideas for a more positive school climate.

General McLane was one of only six school districts selected for the summit because of its involvement with PYD and student leadership involvement. Other schools in attendance included: Girard School District, Iroquois School District, Harborcreek School District, Union City School District and Strong Vincent High School.
