GMHS sophomore Eliza Krizmanich and junior Haley Wells placed in the amateur division of the Edinboro Highland Games Plein Air Art Competition. Eliza Krizmanich placed first winning $200 and Haley Wells placed second winning $100.

Students had two hours to choose a part of Edinboro Universities campus to draw. There were boundaries set up to encourage artists to capture part of the Highland Festival Games. Within those two hours they had to make their drawing from start to finish. At the end of the two hours, their work as matted and judged by Edinboro Professor, DP Warner. Students got a demonstration from DP Warner himself at the beginning of school and their first project in class was a landscape drawing to help build technical skills for the competition.

The 22nd annual Edinboro Highland Games was held September 10-13, 2015. During this event, Edinboro University transforms their campus to fit the rich traditions of Scotland, including world-class musicians, fine gift vendors, fiddle and harp competitions, Highland dance and athletic competitions, pipe band and solo competitions, clan gatherings, kids’ crafts and games, and traditional Scottish food.

Congratulations to Eliza and Haley!
