GMHS Yearbook Earns National Recognition

The 2013-2014 General McLane High School yearbook, The Imperator 2014: Coasting Through the Year, has received national recognition with a first place award from the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) annual yearbook competition. The award reflects the staff’s developing talent in the fields of writing, photography, and page design.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition because it’s a testament not only to the staff’s hard work throughout the semester but also to the support of the community,” says GMHS Yearbook advisor Diane Bremner. “We would not be able to produce the book without the help from our local advertisers and the many students, parents, and photographers who donate images for publication.”

This marks the sixth consecutive year that General McLane High School’s publication has received an ASPA award and the fourth time it has placed first. Imperator placed first in 2013, 2012 and 2009 and placed second in 2011 and 2010.

In addition to this award, the 2013-2014 Yearbook also won the Superior Performance Award from Walsworth. Walsworth is the publishing company of the yearbook and issued this award for excellence in the yearbook production process.

Congratulations to the entire yearbook staff on the terrific accomplishments!
