General McLane High School students recently participated in the State Leadership Conference in Hershey for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Our students competed in the following categories: McKenah Bryson, Journalism; Noah Haddox, Personal Finance; Kristy Ferrick, Accounting, and Eric Staples, Cyber Security (not pictured).  They also participated in various workshops such as “International Business-Careers and Competencies,” “Travel, Learn, and Live Overseas,” “Mind-Blowing Leadership,” “How to Ignite Your Chapter,” and an anti-bullying keynote “Sweethearts & Heroes.”

Nearly 4,000 student members and advisors from all over Pennsylvania attended the conference.

Future Business Leaders of Americais a nonprofit educational association of student members preparing for careers in business or who are just simply interested in learning more about the free enterprise system. FBLA helps students develop leadership abilities, and prepare for entry into, and advancement within, a business or business-related occupation. Members learn how to engage in business enterprise, how to direct the affairs of a group, and how to compete honorably in competitive events. These activities help prepare students to be better employees and better citizens.
