Posted on August 25, 2017, in Academics

General McLane School District welcomes twelve new teachers and ten new employees to the District this year. Throughout the week, we will be introducing many of them!

Mrs. Melanie Mischler will be teaching 8th grade Language Arts at James W. Parker Middle School. This past school year, Mischler worked as a part-time sixth grade teacher at James W. Parker Middle School and a library aide at General McLane High School. Mischler has previously held long-term substitute assignments within the District and has also taught middle and high school students in Virginia and Philadelphia. She also taught and lived in Kenya for two years. She holds a number of certifications, including English, Reading Specialist, Library, Elementary and Mid-Level English and Language Arts. Mischler graduated with her Bachelor’s from Cairn University and received her Master’s in Reading from Edinboro University.

Mrs. Mischler has four kids in the school district.

“I love the GM school district and am so excited to be working here full time,” said Mischler, who added that she is not related to Coach Mischler (of Cathedral Prep fame). She often gets that question a lot!
