James W. Parker Middle School students Katrina Morris and Abigail Walla and General McLane High School student Jocie Connolly participated in the 2015 Shining Stars Pageant.

Formerly known as “Miss Shining Star Beauty Pageant”, this year’s event was open to girls and boys with special needs between the ages of 5 and 35 years old. It was held Friday, Nov. 13 at Harbor Creek High School.

During this event, each participant has the opportunity to be in a “Grand March” at the beginning of the show, where they are announced on stage and escorted across. Following the march, participants have the opportunity to perform in a talent part of the contest.

JET TV’s Alex Peterson hosted the event. Tickets were $5 and all proceeds go to local charities, including Shriners Hospital Erie & Erie Homes for adults and Children.
