JWPMS Students Place at State Level for PTA Reflections Contest

Posted on February 28, 2014, in Academics, Events

Congratulations to JWPMS students Ellen Eisert and Riley Clever for placing among the top five in the 2013-2014 National PTA Reflections Contest at the state level.

Ellen, sixth grader, submitted a film entry called, “How My Family Makes Me Believe, Dream, Inspire,” and Riley, fifth grader, submitted a literature entry called, “Just Believe”.

They have been invited to attend a state brunch in King of Prussia in April to receive recognition for this great achievement.

Each year, millions of students around the nation participate in an art competition that has been around for more than 40 years called National PTA Reflections. The 2013 theme was, “Believe. Dream. Inspire.” Students competed in six categories: visual arts, photography, film, dance, literature and music composition.

There are four divisions of the contest based on grade – primary, intermediate, middle and high school. Each year, children compete in their divisions starting at the individual school level, moving to a division-wide contest, regional contest and on to a state-wide competition.

The National PTA Reflections Art Program has been bringing families, schools and communities together in support of student success through the arts since 1969.

Congratulations again to Ellen and Riley for this great accomplishment!
