JWPMS students sell Lancer Grams this week

Posted on February 11, 2016, in Lancer Life

James W. Parker Middle School students, faculty and staff had an opportunity once again to make others feel extra special.

Students sold Lancer Grams during lunch. All staff and students in the building had the opportunity to purchase a Lancer Gram (Hershey Bar) for $1.00 to be delivered to anyone within the building at the end of the school day. The Lancer Gram included a special message of thanks to the recipient from the sender.

This was a fundraiser of the Life Skills classroom. Students learned to take orders, handle money, fulfill the order and then deliver the order. The students sold 1,183 hershey bars in three days!

In November, the students sold Thankful Grams, which was based on the same concept.

This activity was made possible by Bill and Mary Smith Grant, a grant of the General McLane Foundation. Mrs. Plouse won this grant last year, which helped her purchase a cash register, cash register tape, perishable products, printer paper, markers and labels.
