James W. Parker Middle School teacher Tiffany Brooks received the Golden Apple Award today.

Sixth graders Sarah-Terese Petkac and Hannah Fratus nominated Mrs. Brooks, who has worked five years as a teacher in the District. She currently teaches fifth grade and has previously served as a learning support teacher at JWPMS and an elementary teacher at McKean Elementary.

The GOLDEN APPLE AWARD program is a tradition at JET-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. JET-TV, in partnership with Edinboro University, honors local educators who have made a positive impact upon the youth of our community. Students submit written nominations explaining why they are nominating a teacher. Each week during the school year, JET-TV visits an area school to announce the winner.

This honor will air Wednesday, November 1 on Action News24 at 6:00 p.m., and the story airs again on Thursday morning, November 2, on Action News 24 between 5:30 and 7:00 a.m.

Congratulations to Mrs. Brooks!
