JWPMS team places 3rd in MATHCOUNTS

James W. Parker Middle School’ MATHCOUNTS team placed third out of 18 schools during their regional competition.

There were nine students who attended this yearly math competition at Gannon University this past Saturday. Students included Shane Dexter, Caleb Minner, Genevieve Preston, Nathanael Robbins, Zachary Rolland, Aiden Seeman, Nadia Tysiachney, Avery Van Dyke and James Williams.

Robbins, Rolland, Minner, Van Dyke, and Seeman placed in the top 23 out of 118 students, Seeman earned the top spot from James W. Parker Middle School with a 14th finish.

The MATHCOUNTS Competition Series is a national program that provides students the opportunity to compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers. Created in 1983, it is the longest-running MATHCOUNTS program and is open to all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.
