Members of the General McLane School District Board of Education were recognized for their service to the General McLane community during their meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016.

The Pennsylvania School Boards Association declared January as School Director Recognition Month – a time to spotlight the contributions of public school board members. The theme for this year is “Stronger Schools. Stronger Pennsylvania.”

Members of the board of education include:

Carrie Crow, President
Dr. Peter J. Dobrzynski, Vice President
Shari L. Gould, Treasurer
James H. Bucksbee, Board Member
Amy C. Eisert, Board Member
Dr. Annette M. Rilling, Board Member
Dr. Kahan Sablo, Board Member
Andrew Schulz, Board Member
Dr. Timothy Wise, Board Member

“Public education thrives when the community and staff work in tandem to make decisions with students at the forefront,” Superintendent Richard Scaletta said. “General McLane District exists because of nine individuals who volunteer and dedicate their time to make informed decisions about important issues facing our public schools.”

According to PSBA, the typical Pennsylvania school director voluntarily devotes approximately 16 to 20 hours per month to school board business. Forty-three percent of school directors identified public service, and desire to give back and contribute to public education as the primary motivating factor in their decision to run for school director.

Thank you very much to the General McLane School District Board of Education.
