McKean Cancer Caring Quilt Project

Posted on February 19, 2014, in Academics, Events

The Challenge Students at McKean Elementary are working on a project to raise money for The American Cancer Society.  They are selling $1.00 card stock squares that will be made into a Cancer Caring Quilt.  Individual quilt squares can be inscribed with a message of support, the name of a cancer survivor, or in memory of a loved one who lost their battle to cancer.  Quilt squares can also be sent home to be decorated and returned to the school to be added to the quilt.

The students have sold 95 quilt squares so far.  The Cancer Caring Quilt will be on display at McKean Elementary and given to a local cancer center when the fundraiser is complete.  To help support McKean’s project, simply return the attached donation form to the McKean Elementary Library.  Donations will be accepted through February 28th.
