MS students build bluebird habitats
May 25, 2016, in AcademicsJames W. Parker Middle School students built their own bluebird habitats today!
Fifth grade students in Mrs. Santos and Mr. Sturgess’ classrooms built a bluebird nesting box, thanks TO the Pennsylvania Wildlife Commission who donated the wood and hardware for 170 habitats.
Wildlife conservation officer Mike Stutts (who has a son in the school) did a lesson with the students, helped them to build the habitats and then had a video for the students to watch.
This was part of the fifth grade science curriculum. Mrs. Santos and Mr. Sturgess hope to continue this activity again next year.
