New Pump Station at GMHS

If you’ve been by the high school or middle school within the last couple weeks, you’ve probably seen some construction next to the fire pond across from the Dr. Therese T. Walter Education Center.

So what exactly is going on?

In preparation for connecting to the municipal sewage system, General McLane School District is installing a pump station that will move waste from James W. Parker Middle School and General McLane High School into the Washington Township Line which will be on Route 99.

Once connected, the District will no longer be in the business of treating the waste from those buildings  (a process subject to the constantly increasing requirements of the Department of Environmental Protection).  The township line will run down Route 99 and then west to the pump station on Angling Road.  Work on the line may be completed as early as this December.
