Rigor in Action

James W. Parker Middle School students were told to create a scale for this coaster so the class could understand how big it would be in the real world. It was completely open-ended and the questions and prompts were issued through Edmodo (iPad).

Did they figure it out? Generally speaking yes. Now, the process continues and the students will refine the scale across the data so it is accurate and precise.
