Students recognized for achievement in the arts

General McLane Schools continues to remain one of the schools with strong arts in Erie, PA.

The PTA Reflections Awards were held Monday night. The Reflections Program is organized by the PTA and encourages students to pursue artistic expression by recognizing their achievements. Students’ works are judged and awards are given at the local, state and national levels.

Students are separated into two categories: the intermediate winners are the students grade 3-5, middle winners are students in grades 6 through 8. The Council-level awards ceremony will be held in February.

For Visual Arts, Olivia Sutton and Anthony Kanj won at the Intermediate Level; Jessica Flak,  Jenna Brock, Jenna Brock and Zyla Volkman won for the Middle School. For Photography, Ben Lipinski won at the Intermediate Level and Helena Fahey, Danielle Mitchell, Abby Raun and Aushley Delaney won at the Middle School level. For Literature, Briana Grove,  Jenna Brock, Patience Makusi, Harley Welch and Tyler Herberg won at the Middle School level. Lastly, for Film Production, Ellen Eisert won at the Intermediate level.
